【Event Highlights】 Welcoming Scholars from UQ and UNCG
This week, the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences is hosting the 2026 AIESEP World Congress, welcoming experts and scholars from around the world. The event has also provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with our partner institutions and long-standing international partners.
On June 16, 2026, Professor Doune Macdonald and Senior Lecturer Michalis Stylianou from The University of Queensland, together with Professor Ben Dyson from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, visited the College and met with Dean Tzyy-Yuang Shiang, Chair Yu-Kai Chang, and Professor Tsung-Min Hung for a fruitful discussion and exchange of ideas.During the meeting, the scholars reflected on the academic connections fostered through the National Academy of Kinesiology and explored opportunities for collaborative research among the three institutions. They also exchanged perspectives on the development of future international research projects.
Through closer engagement and meaningful dialogue with international scholars, the College hopes to further strengthen collaborative partnerships, deepen international friendships, and expand professional networks.

【Event Highlights】Visit from Universitas Negeri Semarang
In recent years, NTNU has actively expanded its academic partnerships with leading universities and research institutions in Indonesia. Many Indonesian students have also chosen to pursue advanced studies and doctoral degrees at our university, further strengthening the academic ties between Taiwan and Indonesia.On this occasion, the College of Sports and Recreation and the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences welcomed the delegation from our university-level partner institution, Universitas Negeri Semarang, on June 17, 2026. The meeting focused on opportunities for faculty and student exchange, collaborative research, and the development of future partnership models.
Dean Tzyy-Yuang Shiang, Chair Yu-Kai Chang, and Assistant Professor Philip Xaver Fuchs met with Dr. Eka Yuli Astuti, S.Pd., M.A.,Prof. Sri Sumartiningsih, Prof. Nugrahaningsih, M.Kes., and Prof. Nanik Wijayati, M.Si. Through productive discussions and the exchange of ideas, both sides explored avenues for strengthening academic cooperation and fostering deeper institutional connections.
This visit not only continued the long-standing friendship and collaboration between our two universities but also reflected our hope to further enhance academic connections between faculty members and students, promote meaningful international partnerships, and lay a strong foundation for future collaborative initiatives between the two institutions.
